Granite City Illinois

Granite City police pursuit ends in St. Louis with escape of robbery suspect. By Christine Byers St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Dec 11, 2017. Police are still searching for an armed robbery suspect who fled from them at speeds of more than 80 mph through St. Louis streets Sunday
The pursuit began after an armed robbery was reported in 1400 block of Iowa Street in Granite City shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday. Officers spotted the suspect driving along Illinois Route 3 toward Interstate 270 and tried to stop him, but he sped away, according to a Granite City press release. 

The pursuit then came into St. Louis, where the suspect abandoned his vehicle near the 4200 block of Kossuth Avenue, near Red Bud Avenue. Officers and police dogs searched the area, but the suspect was not found, police said.

No one was injured and there was no property damage during the pursuit, according to the release.
